Fall 2014 Update

It’s been a long time since I posted!  Life has been hectic, so I’m just going to share an update I sent to a friend a few weeks ago:
Things are going pretty well with Hannah and school.  There were some things that Hannah had trouble adjusting to at first (being anxious at drop off time, the long day, and getting cranky when peers told her to hurry up)  but I feel like she’s settling in now.  A few weeks ago, her grade 1 teacher said that things just get better and better and that she’s doing great, so that made me happy.  🙂  When we had parent teacher conferences, and I asked the teacher if there were any problems socially for Hannah, and she said no.  🙂
She came home from school the other day and told us that she’d made a new friend at recess, then yesterday evening, while walking home from a play date with a neighbor friend, she asked, “Can you have too much friends? Cause Isabelle and I will always be best friends.”  From her reports, she has friends to play with a recess, so I’m really happy about that.  Her printings getting better, and her reading is really starting to soar, so that’s exciting.  She can read herself books now, or read them to her dolls, as she likes to do.  🙂  Playdates at home are going so well too & she gets invited to peers birthday parties, too, so that feels so wonderful!
Otherwise, I’m busy doing Evan’s homeschool (we’re finally getting the hang of it I think!) and keeping up with Hannah’s food prep.  I had a busier than usual fall with my photography business, that briefly resurrected itself, so that was kind of fun!  Our adoption paperwork is officially approved this month, so we could get a call about kids any time in the next few years.  😉  We’re just putting the finishing touches on the basement rooms we developed over the past few months, so that’s exciting.  🙂
Never a dull moment!
